Speak now... or forever hold your peace.

Recently, one of my Voguers came to me and said that Vogue | Diaspora is becoming too formal and never has 'real' interactions with our viewers where you all can discuss or let loose on how you feel about a certain topic. I mean that is after all what a blog site is all about right? Now, whenever a Voguer comes to me with an issue I immediately think of ways to fix this issue because, of course here at Vogue | Diaspora we write to entertain/please our VOGUERS! So, I sat and thought... what can my Voguers talk about? & then I thought of a very CONTROVERSIAL issue that a lot of people can relate to and that I also know may get me in some trouble but hey you have to make sacrifices right!?

Anyhow.... Homosexuality and bisexuality.....

Anyhow.... Homosexuality and bisexuality are two of the many things that will always be debated on for years to come.  In today's age, homosexuality and bisexuality are still huge controversial/much talked about topics. No matter which side you stand on (concurrence or opposition) you can't deny that there are incidences in both the 'regular world' as well as the 'Hollywood world.' In fact, speaking of the 'Hollywood world' there are numerous celebrities who have 'come out the closet' themselves.

For example, actress Evan Rachel Wood has spoken on her bisexuality in a few interviews. Those who speak of Wood may cast her off as a mystery or unknown soul but she herself knows exactly who she is and what she wants. As Evan Rachel Wood was interviewed in Marie Clarie's October issue she says "Yeah, that's a big part of who I am, and it always has been for as long as I can remember, I can't say I'm one way or the other because I've honestly fallen in love with a man and I've honestly fallen in love with a woman. I don't know how you label that, it's just how it is."

we do not own any rights to this photo nor are we affiliated with Marie Clarie or Evan Rachel Wood

Wood has this sort of "in control" attitude that you can say attracts both man and woman and she, as she openly expresses, has no problem with loving both sexes.

So, this is my question to you all... how do you feel about homosexuality and bisexuality in the media? Now, before anyone jumps down my back... I completely understand that this is an extremely sore and BROAD question to ask but I just want to get a feel for how my Voguers feel on certain topics. Do you feel like homosexuality/bisexuality should not be represented in the media, or do you feel like it should be respresented and openly expressed? I'm all for talks! So LET'S TALK!

  5. First let's just get this straight; I'm not a Voguer. Just a man with an opinion. The only difference between regular homosexuals/bi's and Hollywood ones is that the latter is glorified. And I tend to be more accepting to the Hollywood ones. Hmm Maybe cuz they're famous or not in my face wit it. Like elton john seems cool but if he was all up in my face singing and shit I would be bothered.

  6. I believe it's just as wrong to judge someone if they feel uncomfortable with someone who is homo/bi-sexual. As long as that uncomfortable feeling isn't displayed in bashing, biased unintelligent negative opinions it should be seen as innocent ignorance(something they just can't relate to). People tend to group all those who are straight and feel "weird" about the subject as one.... WRONG there are people who aren't necessarily FOR gay rights but can live with the fact that are people different than them.

  7. Homosexuality and bisexuality are both wrong. There is no debate.

  8. I agree with the above.. We're so caught up in accepting change that we have forgotten our morals and what the bible says. The thing is we don't even know when we're accepting these behaviors as the norm. The media have made it so easy to love these individuals and their lifestyles by including them in the shows and movies we view. They are the "funny, lovable" characters in the show. Next thing we know we are sympathizing with them. We are telling others not to judge them. We are advocating gay rights. I have nothing against homosexuals and bisexuals as human beings but I do not agree with the life they have chosen to live. Never will. It's wrong. With the way things are going, people who share the same beliefs as I do will no longer have a voice in society. They will be outnumbered by those who have lost all their morals as well as their respect for God and the way he instituted marriage should be- the union of a man and woman.

  9. I do not have a problem with someone who is homosexual i just do not like the actions they chose to do. As Sam said, "we have forgotten our morals and what the bible says." We should remember that most of us on this page came from a church and it was said that God do not like the actions of those who choose to be come intimate with those who like their own sex. And, when I can say that when we were smaller we knew that two guys and two girls was unusual and was not something that was right. But, as over the years the media put it out as its okay to have feeling for the same sex, our feelings towards the situation came from an ALL HIGH of that shouldn't happen to an ALL LOW of its okay they can do what ever makes them happy. But i want to reinstate that i do love every and anybody but your actions is what i don't like. I'll leave with this if you were grounded in a church from when you were small. And, now your 20 y.o. & ready to get married, would you rather marry a killer or someone who fears the Lord. Peace Love and Just Do whats right, not what you think is right

  10. people continously argue that being gay is against the church but half of you know sinning far too well who are you all to say homosexuality is wrong and krissillion speak for yourself when you say we knew when we were younger two men and two women were wrong SOME PEOPLE dont see that as wrong, you dont just wake up one day and poof your gay if you are a homosexual your first crush will be someone of the same sex you will not need the media to tell you HEY BE GAY

  11. This debate can and will last until the end of time. @anonymous, i'm happy you're standing for what you believe is right. After all, if you don't stand for something you fall for anything. Everyone have their opinions. they always do. But who are we to judge? Im simply voicing my point of view on the matter. I believe its wrong but im not hindering you to practice what you think is right. my rights end where yours begin.

I love the fact that God created us -not as robots- but as individuals with the freedom to pick the life we want to live.

Yes, you are correct. The people that point fingers most of the time are the ones doing the most sinning lol. Regardless, sin is sin. Some things you just gotta charge to the game. But in this case, leave it to God- or whichever high power you worship- to decide.

In the words of President Johnson "sometimes you just need to learn how to shut your mouth".
