Guess Who?

Before they were big they were 'regular every day people.' Vogue | Diaspora is giving you a glimpse of some of the biggest names in the media today and asking you to 'Guess Who?' So Voguers think you can do it? Let's take a look...






Before becoming a huge name in Hip Hop he was best known for his role as Jimmy Brooks. He is the son of a drummer and has worked with several artists such as Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Jay Z and the list goes on and on... Guess Who?



This Long Island born singer/songwriter first became 'famous' in the early 2000's. She is most known for her hit "Foolish" which was featured on her debut album. She is also credited for breaking records such as having the biggest opening week sales for a new female artist (beating records set by both Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill) and becoming the first female performer to hold the top two places on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Guess Who?

This entrepreneur was also born in the state of New York and is one of the top money makers in the Hip Hop industry today. He was born in 1969 and in 42 years he has a clothing line, record label, a hit TV show that was aired on MTV, a feature on Fortune's Magazine "40 under 40" in which he was placed at number one in the list of top ten richest people in the Hip Hop industry, and a number of other business ventures to show for himself. Guess Who?

He has been in headlines recently circulating a bad divorce but other than that he is a former fashion model and comedian that now focuses most of his time on his acting career. He has also produced and co-created shows such as Room 401 and Beauty & the Geek. Guess Who?


This New York native was discovered by Akon and signed under his Kon Live Distribution label. She attended NYU shortly after dropping out to focus on her music career, which in the long run would end up being a great decision for her. She is now one of the top performers in Pop music and her influences include Michael Jackson, David Bowie, and Madonna. Guess Who?



This Hip Hop artist was just recently kissed by 'the Queen,' Madonna and expressed her excitement via her Twitter account. She has a very diverse fanbase that ranges from people such as Taylor Swift to Rihanna. She also had an album that recently peaking at number one on the Billboard 2011 and was certified Platinum. She became the first artist to have seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 at one time. Guess Who?

 
One of America's top 'Vixens in Charge' this lovely lady is an actress/model who began her career in 2001. With her breakout film Transformers, she then went on to star in a movie named Jennifer's Body in which she plays a possessed teenaged serial killer. Guess Who?


At just 16 years of age under the guidance of record producer Evan Rogers this Pop artist moved to the United States from Barbados to begin her career as a singer. After signing to Def Jam records (whose label head was then Jay Z) her career would take off as she would in the future become an artist with too many awards to count, chart topping singles and albums, her own fragrance line, and a label of 'Sexiest Woman Alive' by Esquire Magazine. Guess Who?

 

He taught the world how to get rich or die trying and has managed to still maintain true to his roots as he became a huge rap artist. He was born in New York and is credited for Get Rich or Die Trying and The Massacre being his two 'rise to fame' albums. Guess Who?
