The official Barbie made by Mattel, comes in 50 different nationalities, and even the African-American barbies have straight hair. Consequently, the African American Hair Group in Georgia have decided to take matter into their own hands. Candace McBride, a member of the organization, recently ran across an online tutorial that used pipe cleaners and boiling water to give Barbie natural-looking curl; which inspired the ladies to collected the dolls, and gave them a natural hair makeover. So this Christmas, the African-American Natural Hair Group will give natural haired Barbie dolls to girls at Booker T. Washington apartments.
