What D'Mor Peeped | B.E.T Awards 2012

Every year I look forward to seeing what will transpire at the B.E.T. Awards. After watching this year's production, lets just say I have identified The Good, The Bad & The Bitch Have A Seat.

Try Again | Samuel L. Jackson
We all understand that Spike Lee & Samuel L. Jackson's "Negroes In Paris" cover was for comedic pleasure. It was very hilarious to see those old men rap. However, I think the performance should have been executed more professionally. For instance, lets recall Mo'Nique's "Crazy In Love" rendition. Though Mo'Nique did it for pure entertainment, she was well choreographed and rehearsed. In other words, SHE ripped that performance. So what was Spike Lee & Samuel L. Jackson's excuse?

**What if Kevin Hart didn't make his comedic cameos? I'm petitioning for Martin to host 2013, its only right.
Nicki Is That Yo Mama | Chaka Khan
When Ms. Khan stepped out to pay tribute to Whitney I could have sworn I seen a caramel Nicki. Chaka can definitely pass for Nicki Minaj's mother.
Girl Where Have You Been | Chanté Moore

Mrs. Moore stepped out like a brand new lady as she paid tribute to the late Donna Summers. Her voice was phenomenal, and she looked even better. We would like to see her more often; R&B is missing that voice.

To Be or Not To Be | BBQ or Event?
Was the BET Awards a hood gathering? When I think of an award show I imagine glamour. Yet, the artist came dressed like they were chiling at the Block Party. Say What?????
I was disappointed. The BET Awards is designed to celebrate Black Culture. However, the artist's presentation expressed their lack of respect for the event. The attire was condescending, consequently a dress code should be enforced for next year. If B.E.T set higher standards, the show's level of significance will increase.
Fashion | Forward
These were my favorite looks at the Award Show.

I crowned Selita Ebanks Best Dressed.
The Flawless One | Melanie Fiona

Melanie Fiona had one of the best performance of the night. Her voice was powerful, and her song "Wrong Side of the Love Song" was delivered to perfection. What's better than an singer who sounds amazing live?
The Blues | Whitney's Tribute
I am the only one who forget brandy had them vocals? Honey saaaannnnggg for Whitney, and I appreciated every last bit of it. On another Note, when Cissy Houston delivered that powerful song in honor of her daughter did you cry ... Soulja boy did.
Bromance | Kanye & Jay Z
Kanye got Kanye'd. Classic.

  1. I agree D'Mor! I understand its summer time, & celebs wanna be cool but there is NO reason to show up to a red carpet event lookin like yu hittin the block. & *sidebar* remember whenever Bey hit the red carpet she shut everybody down? What happened to those extra tailored gowns ? Selita definitely took the cake.
